Infection Hours For September 7, 2004

This table provides examples of the Mesonet Anthracnose Forecaster Output for 2004. If infection hours exceed 80 for your location and watermelon male flowers opened at the dates shown then fungicide application is recommended. For other locations and flowering dates check the forecaster directly at http://agweather.mesonet.ou.edu/horticulture/default.html If fungicides have been applied you should enter the date of fungicide application rather than the date of first flower opening. In some cases, such as forecasts of prolonged rainy weather, fungicide application is warranted even though infection hours have not reached 80. Contact your County Extension Office for further information.
